Stepping Stone for Hope

Stepping Stone for Hope is a program to help youth aging out of foster care transition to independent living by providing individual housing and one-on-one education.

The program also supports building “Independence Support Centers” and offers education to help these adolescents navigate through life challenges. The Independence Support Centers provide basic information for independent living and job searching, and housing support.

Stepping Stone for Hope began in 2015, ten Independence Support Centers have opened with another currently under construction. SFMI has been participating in the Stepping Stone for Hope program since 2022
