SFMI runs a guide dog school to train and provide guide dogs to assist the visually challenged with safe navigation
Guide Dog School is a representative social contribution project in which companies, governments(from system and policy perspectives), and society(with participation of volunteers) collaborate, and every year 12 to 15 trained dogs provide mobility to visually challenged people at no cost.
As of the end of December, 2024, a total of 300 guide dogs have helped the visually challenged become more independent and mobile, and currently 84 dogs are supporting people with visual impairments.
What is 'Guide Dog for the Blind'?
Guide dogs are assistance dogs trained to lead the blind and visually impaired people around obstacles and help them navigate safely. The dogs accompany the blind anytime anywhere making it easier to get around, which gives them confidence and security in going about day-to-day lives.
