Standard & Poor's Rated AA- (Stable) by Credit Rating Agency S&P
  • SFMI has been rated as AA- (Stable) by global credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s, which is the highest rating ever given to a domestic private corporation and a rating on par with Korea’s sovereign rating. SFMI is the only company holding this rating in the Korean private sector.
A.M. Best Rated the highest A++ (Superior) by A.M. Best
  • SFMI holds the highest credit rating of A++ (Superior) by the world’s largest insurance credit rating agency A.M. Best. This is the highest rating ever given to a domestic insurer, and granted only to Tokio Marine and SFMI within Asia.
ISO 50001 및 ISO 14001 Achieved ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 Certification
  • SFMI achieved ISO 50001 certification (international standard for energy management system)in May 2012 for the first time in the domestic financial sector and ISO 14001 certification (international standard for environmental management system) in May SFMI is committed to protecting the environment and serving the global community as a responsible corporate citizen.
FTSE4Good Global Index Selected as a Constituent of FTSE4Good Global Index
  • SFMI was selected in June 2013 by British FTSE Group as a constituent of FTSE4Good Global Index, a leading corporate responsibility indicator. FTSE Group publishes FTSE4Good Global Index every year by assessing companies’ sound management practices in six major categories including environmental, social, human rights, and governance issues. Currently, the index has a total of 721 constituents including 17 Korean corporations. Currently, this index includes 953 companies with excellent social responsibility management, including 20 Korean companies, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has been on this index for 6 consecutive years.
DJSI Asia Pacific Maintained Sustainability Status in DJSI World for 5 Consecutive Years
  • The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is a global sustainability benchmark launched by Dow Jones in 1999 in cooperation with RobecoSAM. The index evaluates the sustainability of a company from various aspects including not only economic but also environmental and social practices. SFMI has maintained its status in DJSI World for 5 consecutive years from 2014 to 2018, in DJSI Asia Pacific for 6 consecutive years from 2013 to 2018, and in DJSI Korea for 10 consecutive years from 2009 to 2018.
CDP Earned A- Rating in CDP Carbon Management Leadership in 2017
  • CDP is a global nonprofit organization that evaluates companies' greenhouse gas mitigation response activities to key publicly traded companies around the world and provides investors with reports on relevant content. Since 2010, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has participated in carbon disclosure activities as an institutional investor and information provider and in year 2017, the company have acquired leadership A- grade as the only non-life insurer in Korea.
한국기업지배구조원 ESG평가 Earned A grade in Comprehensive ESG Evaluation by Korea Corporate Governance Service in 2018
  • Korea Corporate Governance Service conducts ESG evaluation to assess the level of domestic companies’ efforts for environment protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance, and grants grades based on the evaluation result, which is used as the basic data for the Social Responsibility Investment (SRI) Index of Korea Exchange (KRX). In 2018 ESG evaluation, SFMI scored an overall A grade with A in Governance, A+ in Society, and A in Environment.
주요기업 지속가능경영 실태조사(KoBEX SM) Earned AAA Rating in 2017 Korea Business Ethics Index – Sustainability Management (KoBEX SM)
  • The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) conduct an annual survey on sustainable management of major corporations in Korea. SFMI earned the highest rating of AAA in 2017 survey.
고용노동부 로고 Received Prime Minister’s Award for Equal Employment Opportunities in 2015
  • Since 1995, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has selected and awarded companies which improved gender equality by providing equal employment opportunities. In 2015, SFMI won the Prime Minister’s Award in recognition of its endeavor in women employment, maternity protection, and support for work and life balance.
